In this section of our website we looked and analysed a variety of horror opening title sequences and looked at what made them successful. We tried to create our own work using this research in a new and modern way. We also looked at horror theorists such as Craven and Saul Bass to find out the horror stereotypes and cliches that the theorists use, which were very successful. To also find out which one would be the most popular to use in out Opening Title Sequence.
Our Research
Prelim In this section we looked at the 180 degree rule and had a go at creating our own shots of people greeting each other. We focuses on testing different shots to see which shots work and shots that don't. |
Real OTS Analysis In this section we analysed existing opening title sequences and looked at a wider ranger of horror films. We based most of our research on our zombie subgenre. We focused also on storylines, editing and storylines through out the opening title sequence.

Making Fake BloodIn this section we explored the many ways of making fake blood. From the cheapest to the most expensive way we looked at how effective the simplest recipe can make a difference to a horror film.

In this section we looked at three types of horror that may be used in a film, trailer or opening title sequence. Types of OTS are linear, non-linear and symbolic. |

In this section we listed examples of OTS titles and titles presentation in existing horrors e.g fonts and themes. We also looked at what they suggested to the audience and why they were successful.

In this section we looked at the key feature of successful opening titles sequence. We need music in a horror to create climax and build tension. The right sound can work or ruin the whole final product. We needed to research the sounds that may work in our Opening Title Sequence.
